Security cover is judged on the night something goes wrong. Until then it is easy to treat it as a cost line, which is exactly why a late or unlicensed officer is such a problem: the gap only shows when it matters most.

Staff Assured started out in security, and we still supply SIA-licensed officers, door supervisors and crowd control staff to security companies, hotels, venues, events and public bodies across London and the South East. We recruit, vet, onboard and pay every officer, and we can mobilise large numbers quickly.

What we have delivered

For a security company covering two hotels, we recruited and vetted more than 300 security staff in 21 days, providing round-the-clock cover of 80 staff a day. Staff were trained in the client’s procedures before they started, and an hourly tracking system monitored attendance on both sites. We went on to become that client’s main labour provider across London.

For a production company running a public campaign across seven councils in South and West London, we supplied up to 120 staff a day in pairs and teams of four, with half of them holding SIA badges, and recruited and trained the team within two weeks.

The right licence for the role

SIA rules set out which activities need which licence. Guarding premises or property against damage, theft or disorder is security guarding. Guarding licensed premises, those selling alcohol or providing regulated entertainment, is door supervision. Watching people or premises on CCTV is public space surveillance. We check that each officer holds the licence the role actually requires before they are offered the shift, alongside a right-to-work check, and we pay every officer through fully compliant payroll.

Round-the-clock cover and short notice

Security runs nights, weekends and bank holidays. We are contactable 24/7 by phone and WhatsApp, and enquiries are usually answered the same working day. Because officers are screened and onboarded before they are offered shifts, we can replace a no-show without starting the vetting again.

Attendance you can see

Through our workforce portal you can see who is booked onto each post and who has clocked in, check an officer’s profile and licence before they arrive, request officers who know the site and decline any who were not right. Timesheets are checked and amended before anything is invoiced.

How our rates work

The charge rate is built from the officer’s pay, holiday pay accrual, employer National Insurance and the licence the role requires. Door supervision and guarding are priced differently from non-licensed stewarding. We quote a range until we know the site, the hours and the number of posts.

Every officer we supply into a licensable role holds the licence that role needs. We also supply non-licensed stewards where a licence is not required.

Yes. The contract described above was for a security company, which went on to make us its main labour provider across London.
